ABOUT US
The place to celebrate St Andrew's Day is, naturally, St Andrews.
Come and join in St Andrew's Festival 2009 - a varied selection of colourful events and activities celebrating the very best of Scotland's rich culture and cuisine.
The festival, now in its 14th year, features a host of events and activities including concerts of traditional and classical music; exhibitions of arts and crafts; dance and drama.
Set in the beautiful medieval town of St Andrews, St Andrew's Festival 2009 has it's origins in the town's traditional commemorations of the feast day, on 30th November, of it's namesake and Scotland's patron saint, Saint Andrew.
The town was named after the Apostle whose relics, according to legend, were brought here by a Greek monk.
St Andreans are very proud of their town's connections with Scotland's patron saint and the local Saint Andrew Society has been organising celebrations on St Andrew's Day for over 20 years.
Some of the events listed may be subject to cancellation and change. Check the website for the latest programme or email us for details info@standrewsfestival.co.uk
